New pitch clock rule established by MLB is causing confusion

Since the start of spring training, MLB has created a new pitch clock rule, which has caused a lot of confusion. In this news story by CNN, they cover the first of many confusions that this new rule may bring. In this particular situation, there were bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs, tie score and the batter had a 3-2 count. After several seconds passed by, the umpire signaled a pitch clock violation and the batter was called out, resulting in confusion from everyone. In such a situation like this, I feel like the pitch clock rule should have been ruled out. This basically ruined that game, and I believe this new rule is ruining the game in all. That call in the game took away from the intensity of the moment and probably left many unsatisfied fans. The reason for the MLB implying this rule is to “speed things up” but, in reality, real fans will sit through a game, no matter how long it takes. So in all, I don’t agree with what the MLB is doing with this new rule. As a baseball player, that extra time out the box can be needed. Ruining the game for time management is also not the best but, hopefully, the MLB realizes their mistake with this and changes it in the future.
