https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/36188492/memphis-basketball-recruit-mikey-williams-faces-gun-charge Last Thursday, top prospect and Memphis basketball recruit, Mikey Williams, was arrested in San Diego on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon. There was an altercation at his home where shots were fired at a car with multiple minors in it. Police were called and Williams was arrested after a search warrant was executed. He was then released Friday on a $50,000 bond. After this incident he now faces up to multiple counts of assault with a deadly weapon. This all a bad look for Mikey Williams with him being one of the top basketball recruits in his class. This also affects Memphis as they now have an tough decision to make. For Mikey to be the promising player that he is, he may have jeopardized his future just like that. We are seeing situations like this more often with Guns and basketball players. Recently we have seen  Memphis Grizzlies, Ja Morant and Alabama

Anthony Rendon has Altercation with Oakland A’s fan on opening day

Image
https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/36031389/anthony-rendon-comment-altercation-amid-mlb-inquiry A couple weeks ago, during the Los Angeles Angels Opening day game against Oakland A’s, Anthony Rendon was seen in a video roughing up an Oakland A’s fan. In the video he grabbed the fan by the shirt through the guardrails and accused the fan of calling him “b****”. In return Rendon called the fan a “motherf****” and then threw a punch at him which he missed. Many people witnessed this take place such as other fans and some of  Rendon’s own teammates. In this new story Rendon stated that he can't comment which raises some eyebrows. Even the Angels Manager did not want to comment on the Altercation. This is all just a really bad look for the Angels especially with it being on Opening Day. I believe that Rendon’s actions weren’t the smartest. He could handle this situation a lot better than he did. He also had a bad day at the plate and that is what they believe brought the frustration

Terrible Call by College umpire causes uproar

Image
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10068547-college-ump-reggie-drummer-suspended-indefinitely-after-strike-3-call-sparks-anger  Two weeks ago, in a baseball game between New Orleans and Mississippi Valley State the umpire behind the plate made a terrible strike-3 call on MS Valley which would go viral. The call was so horrible that the umpire has since been suspended indefinitely by the Southland Conference. I watched the video myself and I believe that the umpire was totally in the wrong here. He deserves the suspension that was given to him. By making this call that was clearly based on his emotions he is now out of the Job. As someone who plays baseball at the college level I really feel for the hitter and MS Valley. This call was so bad that it is considered bad on any level whether it is t-ball, travel ball, or high school ball. Hopefully this umpire learned his lesson and that this situation sends a warning to other umpires on what not to do. Afterall, I really like how ESPN c

Ja Morant is suspended after displaying gun on instagram live

Image
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/35782987/nba-investigating-ja-morant-displays-gun-instagram-video Saturday morning, Memphis Grizzlies point guard, Ja Morant was caught displaying a gun on Instagram video and was given a two game suspension by the NBA. I never expected a player like Ja Morant to do something like this. This has brought a lot of controversy towards him and the Grizzlies. Ja Morant is also signed to Nike who is also receiving some black lash because of this incident . By doing such a thing, Ja Morant is only hurting his team, considering the other news they have received about other players. That news being that Brandon Clarke will miss the remainder of the season due to injury and Dillon Brooks being   suspended as well. This action of Ja Morant’s is just bad timing, as now his team could potentially suffer because of his decision to show off a gun online. Hopefully, he makes better decisions when it comes to what he decides to share online. ESPN also did a good jo

New pitch clock rule established by MLB is causing confusion

Image
https://www.cnn.com/2023/02/27/sport/pitch-clock-mlb-2023-spt-intl/index.html Since the start of spring training, MLB has created a new pitch clock rule, which has caused a lot of confusion. In this news story by CNN, they cover the first of many confusions that this new rule may bring. In this particular situation, there were bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs, tie score and the batter had a 3-2 count. After several seconds passed by, the umpire signaled a pitch clock violation and the batter was called out, resulting in confusion from everyone. In such a situation like this, I feel like the pitch clock rule should have been ruled out. This basically ruined that game, and I believe this new rule is ruining the game in all. That call in the game took away from the intensity of the moment and probably left many unsatisfied fans. The reason for the MLB implying this rule is to “speed things up” but, in reality, real fans will sit through a game, no matter how long it tak

My hometown of Tupelo, MS

Tupelo, Ms          The place that I call home and was born and raised in is the city of Tupelo, Ms .Tupelo is most famous for being the Birthplace of Elvis Presley. It is also home to many other famous people such as the famous rap group called Rae Sremmurd and Dj Diplo. Some Professional athletes born in the City of Tupelo can include Bill Hall, Joe Horn, Brandon Woodruff, and Dusty Hughes, an old coach of mine.                                                          The city of Tupelo was incorporated in 1866. It is located in Northeast Ms and currently holds an estimated population of 38,300. It is the sixth largest city in Mississippi so that tells you where it stands size wise.It was the first city to receive power from the Tennessee Valley Authority, giving it the nickname “The First TVA City”. That is a huge accomplishment for a city in Mississippi.      One good thing about Tupelo is that it continues to grow over time. They are building new restaurants for it left and

Dj LaMahieu says he is 100% percent after avoiding foot surgery

Image
https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/35695213/yankees-dj-lemahieu-avoided-surgery-says-foot-now-100 New York Yankees all star, DJ LeMahieu returns to Spring training and says that he is 100% after choosing not to have surgery on his right foot during the off season. Instead of having surgery , LeMahieu opted for a non-surgical recovery plan on the foot fracture that he had suffered last season. This foot fracture caused LeMahieu to miss the postseason, which is one of the most important times of the season. I'm certain this was a big let-down for the Yankee fans. However, since returning to Spring training in Tampa Bay, FL, DJ LeMahieu has stated that he feels 100% after avoiding surgery this past off season. With this being said, avoiding surgery may not have been a bad decision by LeMahieu and is something positive that has come out of this.  Hopefully, things remain good for LeMahieu’s physical health now and in the future. A healthy DJ LeMahieu is a scary DJ LeMahieu, and the
