Terrible Call by College umpire causes uproar

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10068547-college-ump-reggie-drummer-suspended-indefinitely-after-strike-3-call-sparks-anger  Two weeks ago, in a baseball game between New Orleans and Mississippi Valley State the umpire behind the plate made a terrible strike-3 call on MS Valley which would go viral. The call was so horrible that the umpire has since been suspended indefinitely by the Southland Conference. I watched the video myself and I believe that the umpire was totally in the wrong here. He deserves the suspension that was given to him. By making this call that was clearly based on his emotions he is now out of the Job. As someone who plays baseball at the college level I really feel for the hitter and MS Valley. This call was so bad that it is considered bad on any level whether it is t-ball, travel ball, or high school ball. Hopefully this umpire learned his lesson and that this situation sends a warning to other umpires on what not to do. Afterall, I really like how ESPN c

Ja Morant is suspended after displaying gun on instagram live

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/35782987/nba-investigating-ja-morant-displays-gun-instagram-video Saturday morning, Memphis Grizzlies point guard, Ja Morant was caught displaying a gun on Instagram video and was given a two game suspension by the NBA. I never expected a player like Ja Morant to do something like this. This has brought a lot of controversy towards him and the Grizzlies. Ja Morant is also signed to Nike who is also receiving some black lash because of this incident . By doing such a thing, Ja Morant is only hurting his team, considering the other news they have received about other players. That news being that Brandon Clarke will miss the remainder of the season due to injury and Dillon Brooks being   suspended as well. This action of Ja Morant’s is just bad timing, as now his team could potentially suffer because of his decision to show off a gun online. Hopefully, he makes better decisions when it comes to what he decides to share online. ESPN also did a good jo

https://www.cnn.com/2023/02/27/sport/pitch-clock-mlb-2023-spt-intl/index.html Since the start of spring training, MLB has created a new pitch clock rule, which has caused a lot of confusion. In this news story by CNN, they cover the first of many confusions that this new rule may bring. In this particular situation, there were bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs, tie score and the batter had a 3-2 count. After several seconds passed by, the umpire signaled a pitch clock violation and the batter was called out, resulting in confusion from everyone. In such a situation like this, I feel like the pitch clock rule should have been ruled out. This basically ruined that game, and I believe this new rule is ruining the game in all. That call in the game took away from the intensity of the moment and probably left many unsatisfied fans. The reason for the MLB implying this rule is to “speed things up” but, in reality, real fans will sit through a game, no matter how long it tak
